I am an NSF postdoctoral fellow working with Robin Tinghitella in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Denver. My research focuses on how social behavior, animal communication, and local adaptation influence patterns of genetic exchange between populations and species. To address these questions, I combine population genomic approaches with social network analyses. My work takes place in a hybrid zone between the California and Gambel's quail in the deserts of Southern California, as well as rapidly evolving populations of field crickets in the Hawaiian islands.

It is my goal to inspire members of my community by combining three ethics for which I am passionate: a commitment to experiential education, rigorous scientific research, and conservation.
